His Grace Thomas Collins
Archbishop of Toronto
Your Grace
On behalf of the entire
Chaldean Community of Toronto. I am happy and honoured to welcome your
Grace to this Holy Church, Good Shepherd Chaldean Parish. I invite your
Grace to inaugurate and to bless the immensely important work that this
community did during these last 8 years. First of all, for the Glory of
God. To build this centre, the place of God’s praise and to teach the
Chaldean language and to be involved in the different activities like
the Confraternity of Love and Mercy Holy Bible Study. I am very pleased
to recognize what was given to us through the spirituality of the entire
Chaldean Community, their prayers, their material and social support. I
would like to say with joy that the Archdiocese had its own part in the
building of this church, during the time of his Eminence Cardinal
Ambrozic and now in your own time dear Archbishop.
Today all of us are
honoured to see your Grace among us to participate in our joy and
happiness, to bless the tour with its three big bells and the holy cross
on the top of the bells. We will also inaugurate and sanctify phase two
of this church building by your blessing.
I continually remember you
in my prayers and the prayers of our entire Chaldean community in
Toronto. I didn’t forget during my visit Ad Limina to remember you in my
prayers upon the tomb of St. Peter. I also remembered our good
collaboration for the Glory of God and the Holy Catholic Church when I
visited his Holiness Benedict XVI and his Eminence Leonardo Sandri,
prefect of the Oriental Churches.
